Intellectual property law is a law that deals with protection of the right of those who create original works.It covers many things, from original plays,novels,inventions to company identification marks.
The main purpose of such law is to encourage people to invent new things that might bring economic growth.
When people know their work is protected and that they have certain possibility to earn money through their inventions they are more likely to produce different things.

Trademarks protect the name and identifying mark of certain product or company,the main reason for such action is to allow consumer distinguish different brands.
